Sports are stupid. Kyrie Irving has a fractured knee cap and will miss 3-4 months

From NBA.com

Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving left last night’s NBA Finals game one in the overtime period with a left knee injury. He received an MRI today at Stanford Sports Medicine Clinic, which revealed a fractured left knee cap. He will have surgery to repair the knee in the coming days at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland by Cavaliers head team physician Dr. Richard Parker. His recovery time is projected to be three to four months and his status will be updated as appropriate.

Big blow but I’m not jumping off just yet. If you feel sorry for yourself and say things like “same old Cleveland” or “woe is me” or “Cleveland is cursed” then you’re the biggest, softest, puffiest loser motherfucker on the planet. Obviously losing Kyrie sucks and makes this series about 50x harder, but like I said in the Game Tape this morning- Never count this team out with the amount of adversity they overcame this season. We swept Atlanta with Kyrie playing sparingly and we’ll have to duplicate that performance.

Gotta feel bad for Kyrie though. His whole career he’s been labeled as “injury prone” and this certainly won’t help that narrative. On Bull and Fox just now, Dr. Zanotti said that he’d be back in uniform at around Thanksgiving or Christmas next season. Ugh.

It’s LeBron Cleveland against the world and I still kind of like our chances.

Cavs in 5? Cavs in 5.
