Freakin Indians man. Keep making financially responsible, smart baseball moves. I’m FED UP!
If Tomlin can come close to repeating last season, where he went 7-2 with an ERA just barely above 3, this will end up being a great deal for the club. He and Cody Anderson will battle for the 5th spot in the rotation this spring, and while some might think this deal gives Tomlin the edge, I’m not so sure. The team values starting pitching depth so much that I think they’d be perfectly comfortable paying $2.25 million to a long reliever in 2016 if Anderson did indeed win the job. And if Josh does get the nod, we have last September’s AL Pitcher of the Month waiting for another opportunity in AAA. Depth is fun.
