COLUMBUS, Ohio – After more than a year of ups and downs recruiting five-star quarterback Torrance Gibson of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage, Ohio State got the payoff when he announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Monday afternoon.
Rated by 247Sports the No. 3 athlete in the 2015 class, Gibson, who also accepted his jersey for his participation in the US Army All-American Game, chose the Buckeyes over LSU and Miami (Fla.). Gibson was also considering Oklahoma, Auburn, Arizona, Central Florida and Tennessee until the end of his process.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospects is one of the most talented players in the country, and he’s coming off a 2013 season in which he rushed for more than 1,000 yards, passed for nearly 2,000 and scored 29 total touchdowns while leading American Heritage to its first-ever state championship.
Through eight games this season, Gibson has rushed for 563 yards and passed for 995 while racking up 18 total touchdowns.

Hey State of Florida, sucks to suck, huh? Ohio is just owning you in everything right now. We took Urban from you. LeBron didn’t like you so he came back. Jerome Baker said he was gonna come down and play in your state but nope no dice. How does it feel to be Ohio’s little brother?

Also, hey SEC, suck it. Sorry not sorry we stole one of the top players in your recruiting area. I don’t want to say this is the downfall of the SEC… but let’s be honest it probably is. That’s it. Just hand us next year’s CFB Playoff Trophy now. Do you think Torrance Gibson wins the Heisman in 2015? 2016? Or both? In all seriousness he’ll probably redshirt next season because the Bucks will have JT Barrett and/or Braxton Miller as quarterback options. Urban Meyer playing chess while everyone else plays checkers. (or something like that)
Here are his highlights. Whoa.
