Cavs v Hawks Saturday Game Tape; 2 more

Cavs take the first 2 in Atlanta and now travel back home to defend homecourt and hopefully close out the series in four games. Lebron dropped 31, 9, & 11; Tristan Thompson grabbed 16 boards; Delly was solid with 11, 6, and 4; Shump added 16 points and hit four big 3 pointers; Mozzie had a quiet 10 points and 7 rebounds; and game 1 here JR Smith pitched in 9 points.

Quick one today, guys. It’s Memorial Day Weekend and that’s no time to be inside writing game recaps when there’s beers to be drank and KanJam to be played.

Let’s look at the game tape

At this point I officially started to feel bad for Kent Bazemore

Uh. Wut?

JR Smith did this. It’s weird that this wasn’t a three pointer.

LeBron with the spin-a-rooney to Shump for the corner 3

LeBron to Shump behind the back again for 3. This is when things started to get fun.

The biggest travesty in the history of basketball occurred last night when Tristan Thompson was called for a foul

Don’t know what the hell LeBron was doing here at the end of the 3rd but I loved it

Bron! Savannah is watching!

Favorite play of the night: JR Smith diving on the ground and forcing a turnover when the Cavs were up 16

I want your tears, Atlanta. I want all of your tears

REMIX!!!!!

Couple quick thoughts:

– Tristan Thompson again led all players in minutes played with 41. Pay him pay him pay him.

– Each night it’s a different guy that steps up. Delly in game 6 in Chicago, JR in game 1 vs. ATL, and yesterday it was Shump in game 2.

– Playoff basketball is totally different that regular season basketball and Atlanta is finding that out their 60 wins in the regular season don’t mean shit.

– I think it’s pretty clear that the whole Cavs offense is structured around LeBron doing LeBron things, TT grabbing offensive boards like no other, and then having 1 or 2 other role players go off. It’s worked the past 3 games that’s for sure.

– LOVE the way the Cavs have been coming out of halftime this series. This is the complete opposite of the Chicago series.

– I wasn’t a fan of it at first but watching that game yesterday I’m pretty sure they don’t need Kyrie Irving to win 2 games out of the next 5. Give him and his knee some rest and let’s rock in the finals.

– This series is nothing like the first two. I know I’ve said it before but I just can’t bring myself to hate the Hawks. They’re too boring and don’t have any “bad guys” on their team. This is also very very good for the collective blood pressure of the people of Cleveland.

– Can someone put out an Amber Alert for Paul Millsap? He averaged almost 17 points and 8 rebounds in the regular season and he’s been a complete non factor in these 2 games thus far.

– This look right here is my favorite look.

That’s it for today, guys. Zac Brown concert tonight. Bout to drink a million beers. See you guys on Sunday for game 3 (I’m sitting right behind Atlanta’s bench)

Cavs in 4.
