This pic has been floating around Twitter since early Friday night and I have no idea what to think. Apparently this is one of the jerseys that the Browns will be releasing on April 14th.
The thing that everyone is pointing out is the ‘Dawg Pound” shirt in the background with the new logo, saying that these would have to be real. The “Dawg Pound” on the neck is a nice touch too. They don’t look photoshopped. They’re too boring to be photoshopped, right?
Maybe these are just really low grade replica jerseys and the real authentic ones will look 100% better once paired with a helmet and pants? If these are real then thank God they didn’t go the Tampa Bay or Jacksonville route and look like Arena Football jerseys.
I like the ‘Cleveland” on the front, I don’t think any other team has their city and not the team name on the jersey. Fact is, no one knows except a handful of people and one of those people that has already seen the jerseys is Donte Whitner.
Annnnd Whitner says no
UPDATE:
This “style guide” is floating around the Internet right now and it shows all the new different uniform combinations. Is it real? Who knows. Hope not though.
They didn’t take 2 years just to come up with this, right? Like, there’s no way this front office could be that out of touch with a fanbase. They literally added a stripe and wrote “Cleveland” on the front. I can’t believe it. I won’t believe it. These look like middle school uniforms.
Still, we’ve got 10 days till the reveal so let’s give them the benefit of the doubt until then… but PRAY this isn’t what they came up with.
In the back of my head though I really think this is the Browns going WWE and fake leaking a uniform. Jimmy Haslam doing his best Vince McMahon impression. “You all bought it!” “Even my immediate family bought it!”
Or I’m giving them wayyyy too much credit and 2 years of keeping this a secret just went down the drain due to their incompetence. Yeah, that’s probably it.
