Cavs v Hawks Wednesday Game Tape; Sweep. We’re going dancing

Before we get started, no words in the world will be able to recap this game 4 win better than this Vine:

Now that’s out of the way… WOW. A game 4 BEATDOWN of the 60-win #1 seed in the Eastern Conference Atlanta Hawks to the tune of 118-88. The score was closer than it seemed too.

We’re pretty honest around here and quite frankly my brain is mush this morning so here’s a bunch of pictures and videos because right now I can’t think straight.

Let’s look at the game tape

LeBron looked pretty un-explosive on this fast break dunk

lebronfastbreakhawks

witness.

Mozzy actually caught an alley oop and finished the dunk right on Paul Millsap’s soul

The chair guy at halftime was infinitely more exciting than whatever the Atlanta Hawks had on the floor last night

Chuck called the Hawks a bunch of chihuahuas

Aussie strength. And 1.

Perk’s hand gestures are the best

David Blatt and LeBron had a cool moment before the end of the game

But nooooo LeBron was left hanging

Truest thing Coach Blatt has ever said

Selfies for everybody!

There’s a little bit of a difference in size between the NBA on TNT guys and the Entourage boys (look at Turtle and E compared to Shaq)

Shaq also said he could last 45 seconds with Ronda Rousey

Think LeBron is ready?

See you guys on June 4th.

Cavs v Hawks Memorial Day Monday Game Tape; Delly runs Atlanta

Let’s just get this out of the way- if you think that Dellavedova play on Al Horford was dirty then you’re probably the biggest assface in the world (Hi Stephen A. Smith!)

Gosh how dare Delly dive at Al Horford’s legs like that?! So despicable. There’s no place in the NBA for that…

I just don’t understand how this turned into “Delly is a dirty player” when Al Horford elbowed him purposely in the back of the head? Somehow diving for loose balls is now equivalent to dropping People’s Elbows in the middle of a basketball game? Why not talk about how Horford lost his composure because he let a 2nd year Australian get in his head in the Eastern Conference Finals? But nahhh let’s spin that narrative, Reggie and C-Webb. Start getting the train rolling for that golden boy Steph Curry & the Warriors vs. the scumbag Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The real story from last night is that Al Horford is a mental midget and lost his cool in the biggest game of his professional career. That’s it.

But anyways….

LeBron missed his first 10 shots… but finished with 37, 18, and 13… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯; JR Smith had 17 points and 10 boards; Dellavedova hit four 3s and finished with 17 (and took an elbow to the face); Shumpert added 15 points and hit big shot after big shot; and Tristan Thompson had a relatively quiet night (for him) with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Let’s look at the game tape

The halftime show was WILD

LeBron. Stop. Those Atlanta Hawks players have families. You can’t be pulling that stuff on national TV.

LeBron hit a corner 3 in overtime to put the Cavs up 1

Better angle

LeBron had a nice 2 plays in overtime

One more win and we’re going to the dance

Couple quick thoughts (very quick, I’ve got a Memorial Day cookout to go to)

– How soft are the Atlanta Hawks for letting MATTHEW DELLAVEDOVA into their heads? Out of all the players in the NBA you’re worried about THAT guy? It’s hilarious when you really think about it.

– I know Mozgov didn’t play in overtime but what about the 4th quarter? Is him not playing due more to match ups or just that he’s not playing well? I should have probably paid more attention to this last night but beer.

– Can the Rockets please show up and make this a series with the Warriors? Doubtful. But there’s talk of moving the finals to an earlier date if both conference champions sweep. As a Cavs fan we don’t want that. Need Kyrie to get as much rest on that leg as he can.

– Al Horford’s sister Anna is my new favorite person of all time. You can find her on Twitter here

– Saw a lot of people bitching about the crowd last night. Huh? Don’t know how you judge that by watching on TV but whatever. The Q was on fire. That 4th quarter and overtime was the loudest I’ve heard it in sometime. It was fun.

– Joe Jurevicius, Corey Kluber, and Lonnie Chisenhall sat directly behind me (humblebrag I had better seats than them). Pretty sure maybe 1 person in our section even recognized the Cy Young winner.

– The Fan Fest outside the Q before the game was pretty cool but I was not a fan of that “All For One” beer that I got talked into getting.

– The Cavs are 11-2 this postseason.

– The fact that I even know there’s a guy in the NBA named “Kent Bazemore” is why this Atlanta Hawks team had no business being a #1 seed.

-If people around the league classify Delly as a dirty player I’m fine with embracing that. It obviously doesn’t bother him and it shouldn’t bother you either.

– Bet if Mike Scott doesn’t have those stupid ass emoji tattoos he might make something once in awhile

– If this blog never makes it just know that our one shining moment was orchestrating a takeover on the city of Atlanta’s Wikipedia page

That’s “Mayor Delly” to you

See you guys on Tuesday.

Cavs v Hawks Saturday Game Tape; 2 more

Cavs take the first 2 in Atlanta and now travel back home to defend homecourt and hopefully close out the series in four games. Lebron dropped 31, 9, & 11; Tristan Thompson grabbed 16 boards; Delly was solid with 11, 6, and 4; Shump added 16 points and hit four big 3 pointers; Mozzie had a quiet 10 points and 7 rebounds; and game 1 here JR Smith pitched in 9 points.

Quick one today, guys. It’s Memorial Day Weekend and that’s no time to be inside writing game recaps when there’s beers to be drank and KanJam to be played.

Let’s look at the game tape

At this point I officially started to feel bad for Kent Bazemore

Uh. Wut?

JR Smith did this. It’s weird that this wasn’t a three pointer.

LeBron with the spin-a-rooney to Shump for the corner 3

LeBron to Shump behind the back again for 3. This is when things started to get fun.

The biggest travesty in the history of basketball occurred last night when Tristan Thompson was called for a foul

Don’t know what the hell LeBron was doing here at the end of the 3rd but I loved it

Bron! Savannah is watching!

Favorite play of the night: JR Smith diving on the ground and forcing a turnover when the Cavs were up 16

I want your tears, Atlanta. I want all of your tears

REMIX!!!!!

Couple quick thoughts:

– Tristan Thompson again led all players in minutes played with 41. Pay him pay him pay him.

– Each night it’s a different guy that steps up. Delly in game 6 in Chicago, JR in game 1 vs. ATL, and yesterday it was Shump in game 2.

– Playoff basketball is totally different that regular season basketball and Atlanta is finding that out their 60 wins in the regular season don’t mean shit.

– I think it’s pretty clear that the whole Cavs offense is structured around LeBron doing LeBron things, TT grabbing offensive boards like no other, and then having 1 or 2 other role players go off. It’s worked the past 3 games that’s for sure.

– LOVE the way the Cavs have been coming out of halftime this series. This is the complete opposite of the Chicago series.

– I wasn’t a fan of it at first but watching that game yesterday I’m pretty sure they don’t need Kyrie Irving to win 2 games out of the next 5. Give him and his knee some rest and let’s rock in the finals.

– This series is nothing like the first two. I know I’ve said it before but I just can’t bring myself to hate the Hawks. They’re too boring and don’t have any “bad guys” on their team. This is also very very good for the collective blood pressure of the people of Cleveland.

– Can someone put out an Amber Alert for Paul Millsap? He averaged almost 17 points and 8 rebounds in the regular season and he’s been a complete non factor in these 2 games thus far.

– This look right here is my favorite look.

That’s it for today, guys. Zac Brown concert tonight. Bout to drink a million beers. See you guys on Sunday for game 3 (I’m sitting right behind Atlanta’s bench)
