VIDEO: Cavs fan stays true to his word, eats a shirt because the Warriors beat OKC

That’s what Cavs fans DO goddamnit. We follow through on our word. We say we’re gonna do something? We do it. We don’t backtrack and say something like “oh come on I was kidding” or “”by ‘shirt’ I meant Parmesan-crusted filet mignon” like a Warriors fan would.

That being said, I do have a couple discussion points.

  1. “I don’t have a Warriors shirt. I though I do, but I don’t.” Somebody has some explaining to do.
  2. “I don’t want to die so I’m just going to eat like part of this shirt.” ::Proceeds to cut from the 2% of the shirt that is covered in permanent marker::
  3. He did use Sweet Baby’s, so I’ll give him a point back for that.
  4. It also is a girl talking in the background. We’re back to even.
  5. Well there’s no two ways about it, he didn’t finish his swatch. Now I’m not saying I would have, but I also didn’t make a bet in which I had to eat a piece of clothing if I lost. He was 3/4’s of the way there. Take it home, buddy.

These are all minor complaints though. Anybody who eats a piece of clothing to make right on a bet is OK in my book, especially if that person happens to be a Cavs fan.

ICYMI, Steph Curry is BACK

I know everyone has bad games and you could cut up some Cavs highlights from the past few clunkers that look even worse than this….but that doesn’t change the fact that this video is hands down the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.

For those of you out there still clinging on to the “It’s hard to hate Steph” train, I present to you the events of the past 72 hours. After heroically returning from basically a hangnail of the knee he suffered in the first round (or an MCL sprain depending on who you talk to), Steph proclaimed himself to be “here” as well as “back” after a 17 point overtime period in Game 4 of the WCSF against the Blazers (see above GIF). However, he was apparently lying. The Warriors have gone down 3-1 to the Thunder in tremendous fashion, and although Steph is technically “there”, he is apparently not “back”.

A report comes out after last night’s 6-20 from the field, 2-10 from three and six turnover performance that Steph is playing at 70% strength, battling to come “back” from the knee injury he already said he was “back” from. I’m “confused”.

I mean come on. This doesn’t come out if the Warriors didn’t just  get emasculated on national TV two games in a row. We can all agree that he hasn’t been the same player since his return, but it’s pretty convenient timing for a report to confirm it.

Now I’m not going to straight up call Steph a liar and the Warriors sore losers because I’m a class act and that’s not how we do things at Bottlegate, but you’re all free to draw your own conclusions.

Juan Uribe went yard last night. Frankie Lindor was excited about it.

When you’re on Bottlegate dot com twice in one week:

Great on the field? Check. Great in the dugout and clubhouse? Uh huh. Great in the community? You bet. Frankie just gets it man. Everything about being a professional athlete, even at 22 years old, he gets it. Crazy to think he’s still a year younger than that former Browns quarterback who’s currently unemployed and barely looking like a human, let alone a football player.

It might have been hard to enjoy at the time, given what was happening up in Canada, but let’s not gloss over that pimp job from Juan, either. A truly professional performance.
