Guy petitions White House demanding Obama reinstate Josh Gordon

 gordonvsgoodell

By now you’ve heard every sports take on the planet in regards to Josh Gordon and his suspension. The ol’ “Hit Mary= 2 games. Hit Mary Jane= 1 year.” I admit I’m fired up about the whole situation. The NFL handled this situation so poorly it makes your head spin. But that’s the way the NFL operates. It’s so far out of touch with reality. No common sense. Roger Goodell just walking around the NFL offices with a big dump in his pants all day. The common fans of the NFL may shrug off Fuhrer Goodell’s actions, but not I! No sir, I will not stand for it because I am an American in the United States of America. And being an American in the United States of America it says somewhere that you have the right to petition. And that’s just what I’ll do.

Press play and continue reading. Let the music build a little bit though

I hereby demand Mr Obama and friends reinstate Josh Gordon and strip Roger Goodell of his commissioner duties immediately. I won’t stand for his tyranny any longer! But I can’t do it alone, I need your help to have our voices be heard! This is not the America I was raised on! The America I grew up with didn’t allow dictators. The America I grew up with showed videos on MTV. In the America I grew up in you were treated fairly and with respect. My two grandfathers didn’t serve in WWII to see this sort of autocracy threaten the very thing we hold near and dear to our hearts; our FREEDOM!

We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate… the reinstatement of Joshua Caleb Gordon and Cleveland’s subsequent Super Bowl victory!!! USA!! USA!! USA!! USA!! USA!!

My takeaways from Browns vs Rams

1. The new video boards are fantastic. They completely change the dynamic of the stadium and it feels like a brand new place. The sound system is also an enormous upgrade. For the past couple seasons I usually sat in the upper deck (because I’m poor) and the sound system was AWFUL. It was a nice change hearing some hip hop music and not hearing a rattling sound while your seat vibrates.

Instagram media by wfnyscott - Not bad, @officialbrowns. #cleveland #browns #firstenergystadium #stlvscle #latergram

2. Why the Browns chose to defer to the second half after winning the coin toss might have been the most asinine move of the night. When your offense clearly needs work, wouldn’t you want to maximize your offensive possessions against the Rams first team defense? Very questionable decision to start the game.

3. I really think we’ll have a solid run game. I do. But when there is no deep threat on the field/when you don’t throw the ball more than 11 yards, how do you keep a defense honest? When the weather starts to turn why won’t teams decide to stack 8 in the box on every play and dare the Browns to throw?

4. Is Nate Burleson going to make the team? He’s missed every preseason game, isn’t practicing, and just turned 33. Unless he plays in the 4th preseason game and actually makes an impact my prediciton is he gets cut. He’s basically this year’s David Nelson.

5. Every time you hear and see this on third down-

Automatically means the opposing team will be getting a first down. It’s automatic. Death/taxes/Opposing teams converting on third down vs. the Browns.

6. The only bright spots during the whole game were the rookie Chris Kirksey and the kick return team. It seemed like every person they put back there to return a kick was getting between a 30-50 yard return. Hopefully Travis Benjamin can break a couple big returns while handling permanent return duties. If we’re being honest, he’ll probably have A LOT of chances.

7. Even though it was vs. the 2s and 3s, Johnny looked a lot more poised and confident this game than last. He had a couple balls dropped and wasn’t helped by the 2nd team offensive line. When he first came into the game you could feel the energy and excitement in the stadium. It was quite the contrast from the overall feeling of apathy in the 1st half.

I squealed like a girl

8. If the Browns 1st team defense looked like that against Shaun Hill and Austin freaking Davis imagine what they’ll look like against Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and Joe Flacco. Heh. I know its preseason but c’mon, you made Hill and Davis look like they were playing 7 on 7. I know there was no Joe Haden but still.

9. I love the Browns new dog Swagger.

I don’t appreciate Butler’s bulldog talking shit though.

Found a picture of Swagger in the future after a week 14 loss to the Colts

10. This guy is gonna be poor.

After this game my updated Browns record for this season went from 11-5 to 10-6. (Kidding. I think?)

Johnny Football is a bust. There. I said it.

I’m fired up right now. My eyes are bloodshot, steam coming out of my ears and hair on fire. Blood pressure at a cool 160/100. Can’t focus clearly. Vision is kinda blurry…  All last night and into today I’ve been hearing and reading garbage everywhere I look. Talk radio shows already wondering whether Johnny Manziel has enough upstairs to have a successful career. Fans calling into said shows and declaring Johnny a “bust.” Calling for CONNOR SHAW to start for the Browns. Writers blaming Manziel’s offseason escapades on his early struggles. Saying “he should have been studying his playbook instead of partying.”

This is actually happening. This is the world we live in.

Did I mention Johnny has thrown 27 passes exactly… twenty seven… in a couple of quarters in 2 preseason games. That’s right. Two preseason games. Newsflash, guys-  Of course a rookie quarterback may struggle. Holy shit. Brand new playbook, brand new team, brand new coach, brand new terminology, brand new linemen, receivers, backs, tight ends… there’s literally nothing that’s happened so far that is in any case surprising. Did anyone actually think that a quarterback who has never huddled, who has never really had a playbook, who is undersized and who is known as an “improviser” would come into the NFL and set the scoreboard afire in his first couple live action games? You won’t find a bigger Manziel fan than me and even I knew he would struggle.

And now to the finger heard ‘round the world. You’d honestly think Johnny had knocked his wife unconscious in an elevator. Ah, wrong team. Nevermind. I honestly feel like Im living on a different planet hearing the talking heads on ESPN discuss the ramifications of a middle finger. Am I alone in feeling that flipping someone the bird is one of the least offensive things in the world? People flip me off all the time on the highway, I’ve never been disgusted or thought to myself “what immaturity, they’ll never be a successful driver on the highway.” It’s mind boggling really. If you were on Twitter last night you’d have actually thought that Johnny was the first player in the history of football to ever swear on the field. The holier than thou Peter Kings and Mark Schlereths of the world apparently think a hand gesture will somehow dictate the way a player’s career pans out. It’s a sign of immaturity. It’s a sign of other teams getting to him….

Umm, hello? Did anyone watch Johnny Manziel play at Texas A&M? Anyone? Or are we discounting his past 2 seasons at College Station? The guy is a fire breathing, shit talking ball of energy who thrives on competition and confrontation. This isn’t a secret. Hey Schlereth, why don’t you turn on your own network for me one time. Oh, never mind you’ve got to play the troll this upcoming segment. Got it.

Frankly I love it. I love having my quarterback care that he’s not performing the way he’s capable of. I love my quarterback having some passion. I love my quarterback standing up for himself. We’ve had 100 20 quarterbacks since 1999 with the same “Oh golly gee, ho hum” good ol’ boy attitude and what has that gotten us? The worst overall record since 1999? The most head coaches? The least playoff appearances?

*GASP*

Did he just say the F— word??

But the clickbait “Is Johnny Manziel a Bust?” (This post actually) and “Johnny Football In Over His Head” titles of articles will get the page views. Those will get the clicks. That’ll get the people to start forming the idea in their head that Johnny Manziel was a wasted draft pick. Because of course all rookies come in and light it up right away a la RG3 and Andrew Luck. Of course.

No one will mention that in Aaron Rodgers 3rd preseason game he had 3 turnovers in 4 series in the fourth quarter. No one will mention that Drew Brees struggled early in training camp with the Chargers while competing with Doug Flutie. No one will mention that Colin Kaepernick had the worst passer rating in the NFL for QBs who threw 20+ passes in his rookie preseason games. And that he had 5 interceptions in his last 34 passes in said preseason games. Nope. No one will talk about how it’s normal for rookie quarterbacks to struggle and to look like they don’t know what’s happening around them. Even the elite quarterbacks in the game struggled in their rookie training camps.

But yeah, let’s write Johnny off after 2 preseason games because he threw a couple incompletions and struggled. Fuck him. He parties and doesn’t care about football. No wonder he’s having a rough start to his career. Remember that picture on the swan? Remember when he went to Las Vegas? Remember that SELFIE he took?!? The guy just doesn’t want it. Doesn’t have the right mindset. Diva. Immature. Cleveland will have to draft another quarterback next year. Johnny will be bagging groceries in 2 years.

Whatever. At least we have The Sex Cannon.

PS- Is ESPN seriously going to blur out a middle finger after they showed a looping clip of Tony Stewart killing a guy with a car?
