Ah, October. The time for football, Halloween, and low budget political commercials that fill up your TV screen during every commercial break. Here we have former 92.3 The Fan host Chuck Booms endorsing Euclid mayoral candidate David Lynch. But let’s not focus on politics in this blog post. Let’s focus on that majestic 50% cotton/50% polyester blend button up shirt that ol’ Chucky is sporting.

At first glance I couldn’t tell if this was a political ad or the new trailer for the Team America: World Police sequel. So much America oozing from that shirt that right after I watched these videos I immediatly went to YouTube and started listening to instrumental versions of The Star Spangled Banner. USA USA USA!!!

Miss you on the airwaves, Chuck.

PS: My dad lived in Euclid in his 20s and literally every other day he talks about how great the E. 185th Festival used to be until they cancelled it. Don’t really know how Euclid is now but I can tell you that as a 27 year old I won’t be moving there any time soon.

Joe Thomas’s Window Commercial Deserves All The Cinematic Awards In The World

Yesterday wasn’t all doom and gloom because yesterday gave us this. Joe Thomas’s mug on our TV screens selling windows like he’s been doing it for years. What a performance. What a commercial. Going into the Hall of Fame at left tackle and going into the Hall of Fame as a window salesman. The fake, forced enthusiasm he uses to convince you to buy a window is the stuff they study in Acting 101. Not only will people be watching film of his play on the football field, they’ll be watching film of his performance on the silver screen.

According to Twitter the first mention of this commercial was on August 18th but I had never seen it until yesterday. So here ya go, when I see instant classics like this, I upload them to the Internet and share them with the masses. It’s not as good as Mozgov’s commercial but it will definitely go down as one of the greatest Cleveland athlete commercials ever made.

I legit lost it at “CALL Univeral Windows Direct” at the :20 mark. Such passion.

BRAVO! BRAVO SIR! What a rush! Never knew ol’ Timo had acting chops like that. Even in a backwards jersey he’s like a young Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse. Timofey displayed the kind of range you’d expect out of a seasoned commercial veteran. His opening delivery of “Get that weak stuff outta here” will go down in commercial lore along with “Gimme a break” from Kit Kat, the “I want my baby back baby back” ribs commercial from Chili’s, and “I’m lovin it” from McDonalds.

If you saw Timo out at the Brew Garden, how many beers do you think he could slug back? Twelve? Twenty? Fifty? For some reason I get this suspicion that he’s probably a vodka guy.
