Pretty cool. Pretty pretty cool. The Browns got their highest rated receiver, accrued more picks, and actually seem like they’re sticking to the gameplan. Sash and the boys are playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers (I think that’s how the phrase goes)
Most draft day phone calls all sound the same with lots of “yes sirs” and “thank yous” but in his post draft interviews and in a few videos, Corey Coleman actually seems like he’s excited to be here.
Also. I think it’s time we start referring to Sashi Brown as just “Sash” from now on since that’s what he calls himself.
Chris Tabor. Chris motherfucking Tabor. The guy just won’t die. He’s a cockroach in a nuclear holocaust. He’s unkillable and unfireable.
Hired by Pat Shurmur, retained by Rob Chudzinski, retained by Mike Pettine… and now retained by Hue Jackson. Whatever Chris Tabor is doing I need to find out and start doing it myself.
He’s like Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant. He can get mauled by a bear, left for dead by his friends, attacked by Indians, maybe he’ll have to sleep inside of a horse or two… but he’ll always survive and he’ll ALWAYS be the Special Teams coach of the Browns. Doesn’t matter who’s coaching, Chris Tabor will always be in charge of punt formations and kickoff returns till the day we die. It’s commendable, really.
Now let’s get that left side of the line shored up so Travis Coons doesn’t have any more field goals blocked, eh?
ALSO- Once saw Tabor at the Hofbrauhaus downtown. He totally gets us.
Head coaching experience. An offensive mind. History of developing quarterbacks. No-nonsense attitude. And, perhaps most importantly, NOT named Doug Marrone.
The Cleveland Browns hired their first choice to be their next head coach and I’m not really sure what to do with my hands right now. Give Hasashipodesta (yup) some credit here. They did their due diligence on some guys, recognized one they really wanted, and went and got him. The new regime is 1-0.
This search seem SO much different than the last couple to anyone else? No smoke and mirrors, not many rumors floating around. They interviewed guys, publicly confirmed they interviewed said guys, then moved on to interview the next guy. Much more succinct. It’s like they had an actual, real-life plan (gasp!)
I’m relieved. Give Huey the nickel tour of Berea and let him get to work so I can stop talking about this team for a little while and enjoy my Cavaliers in peace. See you at the draft.
