Let me introduce you to my city. My home. My Cleveland.

Let me introduce you to my city. My home. My Cleveland. I don’t wanna brag, but I’m gonna. I was raised in neighborhoods full of makers, doers, people that live and breathe for our city. Rising each morning not just to survive but to thrive. Clevelanders push each other to make more out of our city than people outsider perceive. We’re creating a place to make entrepreneurs, hard workers, families, philanthropists, world class chefs, health care leaders, athletes, and believers. We’ve built a city that we’re proud of and now it’s time to enjoy it. Those who left are coming back hearing the call of a city who’s ready to welcome them with open arms, no matter where they were. And what brings people back? There’s a spirit here you can’t easily forget. It’s not just home, it’s excitement, it’s a new adventure. You can see it in the lake, the parks, the arts, the music, the food. Oh, the food. People from all around are taking notice mentioning us as a culinary destination. Amongst some of the greatest in the world. But I’m not surprised. This place is a treasure. Cleveland is a place where we can drink to great nights, stand in ovation, and cheer proudly for our teams. There’s no place like it. We want our visitors surprised when they arrive and eager to come back. Don’t just go home and tellk your friends “Cleveland Rocks.” Tell them we play, we dance, we work, we drive, we learn, we cook, we love. We love Cleveland. And you’ll love it too. Like I said, this is where I was made. And things that are made here are built to last.

Michael Symon you beautiful son of a bitch. Just for that video I will be eating at B-Spot this weekend, you can bet that. I don’t know when the recent trend of making videos showcasing Cleveland began, but I know I can’t get enough of it.

No biggie, Cleveland’s Jessica Eye of the UFC punched a girl so hard her ear literally exploded

Ew

No that’s not a scene from Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill, that’s real life. This fight happened over the weekend at UFC 180 in Mexico City. Cleveland’s Jessica Eye vs Leslie Smith. One girl walked away a winner, the other walked away with no sense of hearing and an ear that droops down like a Bassett Hound’s.

Maybe it’s not the best life decision to willingly fight a girl from Cleveland.

The best part was former WWE superstar Mick Foley (Mankind, Dude Love, Cactus Jack) tweeting to Leslie after her ear went Hiroshima.

Leslie also posted a picture of her ear post-fight. You can check that out here. (Warning: Gross)

PS- I have a crush on Jessica Evil Eye and I don’t care who knows it. There’s just something about a girl being able to beat the ever living shit out of you at the drop of a hat. Plus she’s a Browns fan.

Donation page for former WMMS producer’s girlfriend & children who got hit by a car

From Rover Radio

On November 10, 2014 the girlfriend and two children of Rob Garguilo, former producer of Rover’s Morning Glory, were struck and critically injured as they were crossing the street.

Many people on the show came to identify with Rob, his girlfriend Sarah, and their children Ben and Serena over the past 5 years. Sarah is 32, Ben is 5 and Serena was just 6 weeks old.

At this time it is unknown if any of those involved have medical insurance, etc. Please donate to this fund which will go toward the medical expenses and costs assoicated with this accident.

UPDATE 11-12-2014: Unfortunately little Serena succumbed to her injuries this morning. Sarah and Ben remain hospitalized in serious condition. Please keep Rob and his family in your thoughts.

I’ve been listening to Rover’s show since I was a junior in high school, his name and the show are synonymous with Cleveland radio. Say what you want about him or his show but I think we’d all agree that what happened to Rob and his family is heartbreaking and awful. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain their family is feeling right now.

If there’s one thing I know about Cleveland it’s that we are loyal and we support our own. Rob was a member of the community for the past 5 years and he needs our help. Even if it’s $5 or $10, every little bit helps. Go visit the Go Fund Me page and donate what you can.
