Braxton Miller Will Be Making The Switch To Wide Receiver This Season

Via SI.com

The idea of switching to wide receiver first came to Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller in April, when he discussed it with strength coach Mickey Marotti. In May, he brought up the possibility to coach Urban Meyer and the two began watching film of star wide receivers together. Later that month, Miller began sneaking on the practice field at night to catch balls from quarterback J.T. Barrett. Miller kept the potential switch from quarterback to receiver secret, a fallback plan in case he couldn’t return fully healthy to playing quarterback after two shoulder surgeries, the latter which caused him to miss all of last season.

Miller’s fallback plan has become a reality, as he told SI.com on Thursday night that he plans to start the 2015 season playing H-Back—a hybrid receiver position—for the Buckeyes. Miller hasn’t completely closed the door on playing quarterback, as he estimates that he’ll spend 80% of the time during training camp at receiver and 20% with the quarterbacks. But Miller said with more than two months until he’ll be completely healthy at quarterback, he’s approaching this season as primarily a wide receiver.

“For the most part, it’s going to be H-Back and punt return,” Miller said in a phone interview on Thursday night. “It’s a long process to get back totally to throwing and throwing every day. This is the smarter thing for right now, God blessed me with a lot of talent and different opportunities. I’m going to have fun with that and still score a lot of touchdowns and help the team out and be dominant at that.”

And just like that the quarterback picture for Ohio State suddenly becomes a lot more clear. It’ll be JT Barrett v Cardale Jones for starting offense, place at the table.

If we’re being honest, the idea of Braxton Miller in the H-Back role kind of makes it move a little. Getting him in space with Jet Sweeps, quick passes… OH LAWD. Plus he said in the SI article he’ll also be returning punts. This Ohio State team is going to be absolutely LOADED with talent on the offensive side. Just think of a backfield of Cardale/JT, Ezekiel Elliott, and Braxton Miller. Who’s stopping that? #PrayForTheBigTen #PrayForTheSEC #PrayForBama

Buckeyes Re-Up Their Bosa Subscription

From ESPN.com:

“Nick Bosa, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the country, is following a familiar path.

The five-star prospect, who is the No. 1-ranked defensive end in the Class of 2016, committed to Ohio State on Thursday morning, ending a recruitment that seemed destined for the Buckeyes since it began.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Bosa, who attends St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, selected Ohio State over Florida State and Florida following unofficial visits to Gainesville and Tallahassee last week.

The top-ranked prospect in the state of Florida becomes the 17th commitment for the Buckeyes, who boasted the No. 3-ranked class by RecuitingNation prior to Bosa’s pledge. Included in the Buckeyes’ star-studded class is No. 1-ranked running back Kareem Walker and nine more ESPN 300 prospects.

With Bosa, Ohio State is poised to possibly land the top 2016 class come signing day. The Buckeyes still have a number of targets still on the board, including No. 1-overall Rashan Gary, No. 23 Antwuan Jackson, No. 121 Damar Hamlin, No. 147 Jordan Fuller and No. 155 Luke Farrell, among others.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Hahahahahahahahaha. Lol. This is like towards the end of the night when you’re sitting on the hot seat in poker and all your friends are pissed that you keep winning and you peek down at pocket rockets after your buddy just went all-in. Or when you return your fifth first half interception for 6 in Madden to go up 49-0 and you see Jimmy just frowning and shaking his head out of your periphs. You don’t want to crack a smile or, god forbid, laugh out loud but it’s damn near physically impossible not to. It’s not even fair how good you are.

Sorry buddy.

Best story ever: OSU-Michigan argument on the Jet Express leads to a brawl between couples and arrests

From 13 ABC

A Michigan-Ohio State football argument on the Jet Express allegedly prompted a fight that resulted in assault charges.

Witnesses say the rivalry argument turned physical between two couples with a woman pulling another woman’s hair and the two men throwing punches at each other.

It divides households and pits neighbor against neighbor.

Buckeyes versus Wolverines.

People fight over dumb stuff. We’ve got Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift fighting on Twitter over irrelevant MTV Awards. We’ve had people in Beachwood Mall fighting over getting their Jordans stepped on. There was a woman who got stabbed in the eye with a fork over ribs. All dumb. All stupid fights. All pointless.

But not this.

This is what college football rivalries are about. Middle of the summer; On the way home from Put In Bay; In the middle of Lake Erie; No better time nor place to defend the honor of your state’s university. The OSU-Michigan rivalry never stops. There are no off days. It doesn’t take a summer vacation. No. This shit is 24/7 365. Some trash Michigan fan wants to come to Ohio and run their mouth about how good the Wolverines are? Questionable strategy but you better believe there’s a chance they’ll get popped in the mouth, get their hair pulled, or get thrown overboard on the Jet Express into the Lake. That’s college football. This is the Big 10, this ain’t the pussy SEC Conference.

What could the Michigan couple possible be arguing here anyway? Team? Coach? Stadium? Roster? All advantages for the Buckeyes. The ONLY thing Michigan has going for itself right now is Jim Harbaugh and that lunatic’s about five minutes away from spontaneously combusting in his khakis.

Ohio State; We’ll beat you on the field and we’ll beat you on the lake.

PS- I’m a Miller Ferry guy when it comes to Put In Bay. Nothing better than downing a couple beers aboard the ferry on your way to rage in PIB.
